At Design-A-Bed we manufacture a wide selection of theme and fantasy beds for all ages. Using 18mm supawood and 8 coats of child-friendly paint, topped off with an acrylic sealer, our beds are made to be sturdy and solid, and to resist the everyday knocks and bumps that are part of play.
And rounded-off edges and corners offer added safety.
At Design-A-Bed we take pride in our work. Each design is manufactured to your specific requirements. We may take longer than our competitors, but that's only because we deal with each project individually to ensure that we, and ultimately you, are happy with your new furniture.
Our standard designs:
» All beds accept a standard single mattress, unless other sizes are ordered.
» We can manufacture bed sizes in junior, single, three-quarter and double beds.
» All furniture manufactured using 18mm supawood, painted, unless otherwise requested.
» Available in a wide selection of colours. Other colour combinations can be provided.
» We can design custom bed and bed sets to fit into any size bedroom.
Design-A-Bed realise that kids need to have a room that allows them to use their imagination - to have fun - to be in a safe environment - in their own home.
Our theme and fantasy beds are designed to be as affordable as possible without compromising on safety and quality.
We use only PG Bison SupaWood for all our beds - no chipboard. We want our furniture to last for your child from toddler to teen. Furniture is painted using non-toxic child friendly paints (8 to 10 coats) and sealed for protection from everday knocks and bumps.

Other reasons why it is a good idea to buy a fun theme novelty bed for a child includes the bed's safety. Because the beds are made especially for children, their safety is enhanced over that of a regular twin sized bed. The edges are sanded, and the paint is safe to be used around children. Also, having a specially decorated room can enhance the way a child feels about their own space. They will be quicker to keep the area clean and tidy, as they will feel more pride about their special area. Having the creative themed bed will be able to provide a good start for children to have first person play skills develop, and have fun developing play skills with others when having friends over.
